Trauma, like the formation of a geode, begins with a fracture—created by intense pressure or events. Over time, minerals seep into the hollow, crystallizing into something beautiful. Similarly, healing from trauma transforms pain into resilience and growth. What feels broken can become a source of strength, revealing the beauty and potential within.

Trauma has historically been defined as the effects of war, abuse, accidents, or loss, and these remain true. Today, trauma is understood as any experience that causes significant emotional or physical distress, impacting an individual's sense of safety and well-being. Trauma can also alter one’s beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. It presents differently in children and teens compared to adults, requiring thoughtful and tailored approaches to support healing.

I have been honored to walk alongside individuals and families through their journeys with trauma for over a decade. Addressing diagnoses such as Anxiety, OCD, CPTSD, and DID, I deeply respect the courage it takes to confront these challenges. Trauma manifests in ways that range from worry and anxiety to fear, phobias, and dissociation, each deserving of attention and care.

My approach is centered on your readiness, meeting you where you are with patience and empathy. Trauma work takes time, and I prioritize creating a safe and supportive space to explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Using EMDR alongside a thorough history assessment, I strive to understand your unique concerns while equipping you with coping skills to manage distress, flashbacks, and other reminders outside of sessions.

It has been profoundly rewarding to witness clients achieve meaningful progress, reducing PTSD and other trauma symptoms to levels where they no longer qualify for a diagnosis. Together, we build resilience and reclaim a sense of safety and strength, one step at a time.
